Course Description:

The EKG course curriculum prepares health care students and healthcare workers in the basics of reading basic EKG strips. The course of study provides opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills used by healthcare workers who read EKGs as part of their job responsibilities. Acquiring EKG skills can expand a nurse aid or CNA's role. EKG content focus is on anatomy and electrophysiology of the heart, identifying normal and abnormal heart rhythms on the EKG monitor and responding appropriately in emergencies.

After successful completion of the program, graduates will receive a certificate of completion from J´Reneé Career Facilitation, Inc.

Course Details:

  • The J´Reneé EKG course is an accelerated 20-hour program held once a week for four weeks.

  • Daytime, evening and weekend classes are scheduled. Contact the Admissions Office for the latest schedule and to register.

  • EKG is designed for the healthcare student or healthcare worker who is currently employed in or contemplating working in the ICU, CCU, ER or cardiac step down unit.

Tuition:

Contact the Admissions Office for the current program tuition. Tuition includes: course materials and lab supplies. A down payment is required to enroll in the program. Students may participate in a payment plan at no additional costs or finance charges. See also Financial Assistance for funding options.

Enrollment:

To enroll in EKG, make an appointment to visit our campus Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to speak with an Admissions Specialist. A one-time student application must be submitted to enroll in any J´Reneé program. The application fee is $35. Payments are accepted in cash, check or credit card. Students may complete their applications in advance by utilizing the link below, or they may be completed on campus during their admissions appointment.
